Tot just acabada la carrera de teologia, amb vint-i-dos anys per\u00f2 ja doctor, el jove Dietrich Bonhoeffer va ser destinat a Barcelona com a vicari en pr\u00e0ctiques a la parr\u00f2quia alemanya. Les tres confer\u00e8ncies aplegades en aquest llibret foren pronunciades en aquest per\u00edode, entre novembre de 1928 i febrer de 1929. Els textos ens parlen del moment que viu Europa i especialment Alemanya, immersa en la desil\u00b7lusi\u00f3 despr\u00e9s de la derrota a la Primera Guerra Mundial, i a punt d’esclatar la crisi del 29. I ens d\u00f3nen tamb\u00e9 el retrat d’un jove d’una notable radicalitat i alhora d’una maduresa impr\u00f2pia per a la seva edat.
