El conflictivo tema de los ricos, que tiene como llamativa contraparte a los pobres, es tan antiguo como los recuerdos y registros hist\u00f3ricos de la humanidad. Esta realidad ha suscitado la atenci\u00f3n de quienes se dedican a la econom\u00eda, la historia, la sociolog\u00eda, la filosof\u00eda, la pol\u00edtica y tambi\u00e9n de quienes se involucran con la religi\u00f3n en general y el cristianismo, en particular. El autor de esta obra parte del relato de Zaqueo (Lc 19,1-10), se pregunta qu\u00e9 entend\u00eda la gente por ?rico? en el siglo I, y busca identificar una construcci\u00f3n del personaje rico en el relato evang\u00e9lico. Del relato al prototipo es la f\u00f3rmula que sintetiza este recorrido. El estudio socio-narrativo recorre dos caminos que constantemente se cruzan: de todo el evangelio a Zaqueo y de Zaqueo a todo el evangelio.
