El papa Benet XVI va encarregar al cardenal que abord\u00e9s amb m\u00e9s detall aquesta problem\u00e0tica i la discussi\u00f3 d\u2019aquell moment al voltant de l\u2019evolucionisme i el creacionisme, i deman\u00e0 al seu cercle d\u2019antics alumnes, que es reuneix anualment, que es formul\u00e9s les mateixes preguntes.
